good morning kim!

hope i didn't make you fall off your chair coming in this early ... *wink*!

i have to get on my horse with the sun today as i am traveling to the lake for the wedding rehearsal and my friend mare is coming along so we may pop into a few shops along the way ... : )

i think i have been rather inspired by colour lately ... { throat clearing }

and so when i was choosing an image for hff at flickr ~ i was drawn to the colours in the metal of this wire fence ...

i took this on tuesday when i was at the cemetery bee ...

i just love how mother nature so naturally makes a dull piece of metal look so interesting and colourful!

anyways, i will be back later this evening to check in on you and see how you are doing ...

have an awesome day in every way ~

much love,

happy thoughtful thursday, dear kim ~

how is our creative girl doing today?

i can't imagine how much inspiration you are stirring up ...

how many sleeps til the launching of your inspiration stay.cation?

eeeeeeeexciting stuff!! { insert . dancing emoticon }

now, back to t t ...

i know that grass is hardly a sensitive plant ...

in fact ... it probably is one of the top in the hardY category ... *grin*

but i just couldn't resist pairing this delightful quote with this image as the dew was seriously silvery, shining in the morning light ...

that was last week ... remember on one of those foggy 'moody manitoba mornings'?

can you imagine all the little insects drinking in their fill ~ one droplet would be so much!

anyways, hope all is well for you today and that things are coming along as they should ...

on the eve of the last rehearsal and wedding days of the season ...

zing went july!

cheerio for now ~

know what?

when you have all the amazing pieces put together for your fantabulous stay.cation offering,
then you come and sit in that chair and i'll grab you a nice cold diet coke from the fridge ...

cuz you are going to need a little chillin time ...

what d'ya say ...

mouse over for before | after

happy texture tuesday to you, mrs. klassen!

so, have you found your feet today ... i mean ... have you gotten a bit grounded after your weekend?

sometimes we need a holiday after a holiday ... : )

this morning i was away to the country cemetery where my brother, my dad and my dad's family rests ...

it was the annual cemetery cleaning bee where members of the community gather to give extra care to trimming and caring for the resting place of so many gone before us ...

for sure everyone works hard, but there is lots of visiting and reacquainting that occurs ...

and after the trimming is done, the lawn chairs, coffee and cookies come out and we gather for a 'meeting' about any business that may need to taken care of ...

i love this gathering ~ it is a wonderful way of connecting and caring and sharing ...

anyways, i wanted to share an image of this particular marker that my dad would tell me about so many times ...

it is the very first marker of the very first grave at this cemetery site ...

a little girl of a family settled to the area so very long ago ...

my dad had a soft spot for her ~ not knowing her ~ but that her name was never inscribed ~ that her marker was so plain, simple and quiet ...

but you know, kim ... i now visit this spot every time i go to the cemetery and think about my dad's story and think about the little girl ... and visit her so she knows she is never forgotten ...

the board is super worn and weathered away so much ... yet it stands and withstands anything the elements throw it's way ...

i wonder if that little girl had that kind of determination in her short life ...

and can't help but wonder where she would have gone with it, had she lived longer ... sigh.

giving thanks for every blessing ~ no matter how little ... xo

oh yes! i almost forgot (again) to leave a recipe! oh oh ... ; )

. slight curve adjustments on background copy
. your vintage texture . 100% soft light blending . layer mask brushing out marker and foreground grass
. your white wash texture . 100% soft light blending
. your history texture . color blending . 100% opacity
. add hue | saturation layer ~ hue -2 . saturation -75 . lightness -5
. add layer texture . lighter color blending . 72% opacity . layer mask brushing out marker and foreground grass

and, that's it, that's all ...
